Official Announcement - Hop Skip and Jump on the Lookout for a CEO!
After more than thirty years of dedicated service to Hop Skip and Jump, we are sad to announce that founder trustee Mrs. Clarissa Mitchell will be stepping down from her responsibilities in September. We are immensely proud of everything that Clarissa has achieved, starting from scratch in the 1980s, when attitudes to disability were so very different, to build a thriving charity with five centres nationwide, supporting thousands of families every year. Clarissa has been an inspiration to many and we thank her more than we can say for everything that she has done for Hop Skip and Jump over the course of many years.
Following the inevitable sadness that comes with such news, Clarissa’s departure will mark the beginning of an exciting new time for Hop Skip and Jump, and we are thrilled to announce that we will be recruiting for the role of a new CEO to take the charity forward to even bigger things.
Official announcement from Mrs. Mitchell:
“The time has come since the conception of this charity in 1980, to move it on to another level. We are now looking to recruit a CEO to start in September with a six month handover. It is the Foundation’s wish that the ethos of flexible and immediate day care and not turning anyone away, is to be carried on by whoever takes over. The CEO’s role will essentially be to appoint new trustees and establish further long term funding as the provision is needed all over the UK as well as support the Head of Care, the Head of Training and Development, the Marketing Manager and the Accounts Department.
After the handover, I personally, will be moving to an ambassadorial role, so that I can promote this vital provision, but will withdraw from any fundamental decisions.
I am so proud to hand over the Foundation with its present superb staff team and standard of care and, of course, wish everyone the greatest success in the future, with the sincere hope that Hop Skip and Jump continues to support families and their dependants, for many years to come.”
